Looking for a crafty or outdoorsy volunteer to assist with running a tween (ages 8-12) foraging and dyeing workshop! We will be roughly split into two teams: foraging, where we will be outside and learning about/harvesting plants, and dyeing, where we will be helping tweens use dye vats to color thread and bandanas.
Please be prepared to help with both activities as needed!
Tasks will include:
- supervising dye vats outside (dipping materials into dye and keeping kids from touching them)
-helping tweens hang up their projects to dry
-supervising tweens on our foraging walk, discouraging dangerous behavior and encouraging engagement
-helping tweens safely harvest plant samples of their choice
-other tasks as assigned
Please keep in mind to wear clothes that you're comfortable getting messy in.
Location: Storytelling Room & Patio, plus the Library Park!
